Monastic Tour in Sikkim


Sikkim is a multi-racial and multi-religious State in which there are 83 Buddhist Monasteries,159 Mani Lhakhangs, 21 Lhakangs,11 Tsamkhangs or Mediation Centre, 35 Chortens or Stupas and Stone Carved Mendangs,1 Bon Gompa. Sikkim has the highest number of monasteries in India belonging to different sects and the major one is the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre, the seat of the Kagyu Order, which was built in 1960 after the arrival of his Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa.

Bagodgra to Yuksom via Jorethang.

 Day 02


Visit to Dubdi monastery and Norbu gang in Yuksom.

 Day 03


Leave for Pelling via Khecheopalri lake.

 Day 04


Visit to Pemayangtse Monastery to Rabdantse and Sanga choeling monastery.

 Day 05


Leave for Gangtok via Tashiding monastery , visit the Bon Monastery, Ravangla & Temi tea garden.

 Day 06


Lingdum monastery , Do-Drul Chorten [stupa] and Rumtek monastery.

 Day 07


Enchey monastery to Namgyal research institute of Tibetology.

Day 08


Visit Kabi Lungtsok, Phodong & Labrang monastery and O / N Lachung.

Day 09


Yumthang to Lachung monastery and back to Gangtok.
